I’m a big fan of boba. Since I’m at home right now in Cerritos, I have the luxury of choosing from a wide variety of boba stores on every block. My favorite would probably have to be Tastea. Tastea has a lot of interesting toppings, such as creme brulee and lychee, as well as fruit teas with tropical combinations like pineapple and peach. I love their unique drink names, like Bootea Shaker! Every drink that I have with them is memorable.

I checked Tastea’s Facebook page, and I noticed that they weren’t running Facebook ads. So I set up a series of four ads, each with different purposes. I looked through a lot of good Facebook ad examples and found that most of them were quite short. I kept mine short as well. To figure out the copy that I should write, I looked through Tastea’s Facebook and Instagram posts. Their website also provided images I could use in the ads. I read through their blog for content inspiration.

After the research, I wrote the copy for the ads. I edited the copy for conciseness and clarity. Then, I created the Facebook ads in the Facebook Ads Manager. See the video I created on setting up Facebook ads here.

Ad 1.

Content: founding story, explanation of why Tastea is better than other boba stores.

Objective: get more people interested in buying from a Tastea location

For this ad, I wanted to explain what makes Tastea so different from any other Boba store. Of course, the first thing that came to mind was Tastea’s distinctive green boba. I read about the founders’ motivations and conveyed that in the ad. I hoped to resonate with readers who appreciate premium, creative teas.

Content: advertise how awesome the drinks are at Tastea

Objective: to entice viewers to order online from Tastea

For this ad, I wanted to make Tastea’s drinks sound so mouth-watering that viewers would be compelled to click the link and order from Tastea!

Ad 2.

Ad 3.

Content: explain Tastea’s Wellness drinks.

Objective: to increase brand awareness and drive traffic to Tastea blog.

For this ad, my goal was to let health-conscious and dairy-intolerant people know about Tastea’s healthier options, such as decreasing the sweetness levels, adding Stevia instead of cane sugar, and swapping out milk for other milk alternatives. The ad redirects to a blog page explaining Tastea’s drinks in the Wellness category.

Ad 4.

Content: Describe Tastea’s Digital Rewards app.

Objective: increase app downloads

I noticed that Tastea recently created a rewards app to replace their physical stamp cards. The more drinks you buy from them, the more rewards you earn. I created a carousel Facebook ad to get people to visit the App Store and encourage them to download the app and share referral codes with friends and family.

Conclusion

Overall, I learned a lot about how to set up Facebook ads for a business. I also learned how to write clear and concise copy to get people to click on an ad!
